Sekolah Indonesia Davao (SID) was established on August 17, 1968 for the purpose of educating the children of the diplomatic personnel’s who were assigned to work here in Davao City particularly in the Indonesian Consulate Office. During that time , most of the students of Sekolah Indonesia Davao are those children of the diplomats. The administration was composed of the Consul General. The school started with ten students and four teachers while managed by one principal. It started with two levels of basic education, the elementary and junior high school.
In 1985, the senior high school was opened to coincide with the need of the graduates of junior high. After sometime, the population of the school dramatically increased. This was due to the decision of the administration and management to accept not just the children from the home staff but also the children of migrant Indonesians from the Davao City and General Santos City as well as those coming from the islands of Balut and Sarrangani.
